Quartier Gourmet trading under ‘The Chocolate Block Ltd.’ is a business that markets food, alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, cosmetics and decorative products.  Before you order from our web shop, make sure that you have no unanswered questions. Use of this webpage

On this webpage the user can order goods sold at Quartier Gourmet in Sodnac, Quatre Bornes. These goods will be delivered to an address which the user has already provided ( or will do so ) in his user account information.

User Account

  • Please fill all fields when requesting an user account. 
  • Once the account is created you will receive a confirmation mail with a link to confirm you email address. Once you have confirmed your account, we would like to ask you to update your profile and provide also your address and phone data.

Account security

  • Make sure that you are keeping your login data safe and don't share it with other persons. Should we discover any misconduct with a user account we might have to block it from accessing our system or delete it totally.
  • By default at no time we are giving any of the users' stored name and/or address data to any third party. However in case of a fradulent behaviour we reserve us the right to report the involved persons, IP-addresses and user account(s) to the police.

Delivery policy

  • Subject to availability and receipt of payment. Payment has to be done on delivery either by cheque (cash) or cash.
  • A minimum order of Rs 750.00 has to be placed to be able to order.
  • We are only able to deliver on the Mauritius main island.
  • If you are abroad and want to order for your friends and/or family on the island you can 
    • create and account with your email and use the physical address of the persons in Mauritius. 
    • In our system you should also be able to enter several different physical addresses. 
    • Please also leave a phone number of the persons on the island, so we can contact them on the delivery day to inform them when we are at their location.

Delivery day

  • Fridays (North & East) - Saturdays (West / South). More info to the delivery here.
  • All bread orders submitted after 12:00 noon on the day prior to the delivery day cannot be handled at the current delivery day.
  • Special deliveries can be arranged on other weekdays (except on Sundays). Eg. hotels, restaurants, companies or simply bigger orders. Please inquire for special transport costs.

Public holidays and shop closure

  • In case the delivery day is on a public holiday, the delivery for this day will be done on the day prior to the normal delivery day. 
  • Please check our Calendar. There we entered all relevant dates of public holidays.
  • We also won't be able to deliver while the shop is closed for a longer period or the driver is on holidays.

Special deliveries

Transport

  • We will do our time planning at best possible to reach you at the desired time and inform you in advance if this cannot be reached (for example due to amount of delivery, traffic). 
  • No refund will be given due to a late delivery.
  • Each single order placed will be delivered to only one destination.
  • We won't deliver during a cyclone warning class III  or if a warning class III is forcasted to be announced during the delivery time. 

Transport cost

  • Transport rates per order 300 Rs
  • The change of the delivery destination on a short notice (on delivery day) will result in an additional cost of Rs 150 to the actual transport rate.
  • Please use the contact form to inform us about the change of the delivery destination latest one day before the delivery. Note your order number in the mail to us.

Deduction, Return and Refunds policy

  • The provision of goods and services by Quartier Gourmet is subject to availability. In cases of unavailability, Quartier Gourmet informs the user prior to the delivery if one or more of the products ordered by him are not available.
  • If the goods don't arrive in perfect condition, or you are unsatisfied with the item you have purchased please inform the transport person immediately on delivery. Later claims can not be taken into consideration.

Order

  • Once the user finalizes his order by clicking on the 'Submit Order'-button in the 'Review Order'-page, he accepts these terms and conditions.
  • If a user wants to order but cannot accept an or several or all condition(s) in these terms and conditions, please inform us by using the contact form.

Accepted payment options

Payment has to be done on delivery by

  • cheque (Please note Cash only on your check and sign the back also),
  • cash

accepted by MCB.

Credit card acquiring and security

  • None of your credit or bank account info needs to be stored or submitted on our web page.
  • The use of credit and debit cards is not yet in use.

Mails and information send by Quartier Gourmet to the user

  • In your user section on our website you are able to have the newsletter sent to you or not. In some special important cases we might sent out a newsletter directly via a mail program to all our users. This will not happen regularly and for very limited occasions.
  • You can also follow us on Facebook to stay informed about the shop and our special offers. Doing so you might receive some automatic mails for which we cannot be held responsible. To avoid this consult your personal data section on Facebook.com or the Facebook support.
  • Should you receive an unusual high amount of e-mails from our addresses, we can assure you that these will not come from us. Please inform immediately about this..

Merchant Outlet country and transaction currency

The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is Mauritius and delivery will only be done within the Mauritian main island. Transaction currency is the Mauritian Rupee (MUR).

Responsibility

Quartier Gourmet takes responsibility for all aspects relating to the transaction including sale of goods and services sold on this website, customer service and support, dispute resolution and delivery of goods.

Cyclone Warning & Force Majeure

  • We won't be able to deliver during a force majeure or cyclone with a warning level higher than 2 in effect. If we are not delivering due to force majeure or a cyclone, the delivery will be done latest on the next possible working day.
  • We won't grant any discount on the goods and/or transport cost if the goods have been delivered late or not at all affected by force majeure or a cyclone warning.
  • In any of these cases we try to do our best to keep you updated about the delivery date and time.

Availability

  • In case we do a maintenance on our website you will not be able to login. We will inform you in advance about a necessary maintenance. You will also see a brief message about the maintenance on the start page of QuartierGourmet.com. We try to keep the interruption as short as possible.
  • We cannot be held responsible for any unforeseen outage or unavailability of our website due to technical issues on the side of the web space provider. We try to do our best to keep you updated about the progress of this issue

Country of domicile

This website is governed by the laws of Mauritius and Quartier Gourmet chooses as its domicilium citandi et executandi for all purposes under this agreement, whether in respect of court process, notice, or other documents or communication of whatsoever nature, Corner Avenue Capucines & Ylang Ylang, Sodnac, Quatre Bornes, Mauritius Island .

Variation

Quartier Gourmet may, in its sole discretion, change this agreement or any part thereof at any time without notice.
